Employment
Liason While the students are working hard in the classroom and kitchen to learn the necessary skills to succeed in the restaurant industry, the Training Institute's Employment Liaison toils behind the scenes to ensure employment placement for the students upon graduation. As a service to the students, the Employment Liaison assists Oliver's Kitchen trainees in preparing their resumes, investigates job leads and employment sources, schedules interviews at prospective job sites and conducts life skill seminars with help from the Training Institute's Case Manager. The Employment Liaison identifies open positions for students by working closely with the Illinois Restaurant Industry, local colleges, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, retirement facilities and community-based employment programs. Oliver's Kitchen graduates communicate regularly with the Employment Liaison for six months after placement, although the service is available for up to two years after completion of the course. |
